- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a cold saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder and granulated sugar until all lumps are removed.
- Add salt and cold water to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil over medium to medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to a gentle simmer, stirring constantly.
- Allow the mixture to simmer for about 30 seconds, then remove it from the heat.
- Let the chocolate mixture cool slightly, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate sauce into a glass jar and allow it to cool further. Note that the sauce will be very thin when hot, but it will thicken as it cools.
- Once cooled, refrigerate the chocolate sauce until needed. Enjoy on ice cream, desserts, or as a topping for your favorite treats!
Notes
