Burrata Bruschettas
Burrata Bruschettas
Ingredients:
- 1 large baguette: Sliced into 1/2 inch pieces, serving as the crispy base for the toppings.
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil: Used to brush the baguette slices before toasting, enhancing flavor and aiding in crisping.
- 2 ripe tomatoes: Diced tomatoes provide juiciness and a sweet, slightly acidic taste, complementing the creamy burrata.
- 1 cup of fresh basil leaves: Chopped basil adds a fragrant, herbal freshness characteristic of Italian cuisine.
- 8 ounces of burrata cheese: The star ingredient, contributing luxurious creaminess and rich flavor.
- Salt and pepper: Essential for seasoning the tomato-basil mixture, elevating their natural flavors.
- Balsamic glaze: Provides a sweet, tangy contrast to the bruschettas, enriching their flavor profile.
Preparation Method:
- Prep the Baguette: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet. Lightly brush each slice with olive oil on both sides and season with salt if desired.
- Toast the Baguette: Bake the oiled baguette slices in the preheated oven until golden and crispy, about 10-15 minutes. Flip them halfway through to ensure even toasting. Once done, remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
- Prepare the Tomato-Basil Topping: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes and chopped fresh basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Gently mix to combine, being careful not to crush the tomatoes.
- Assemble the Bruschettas: On each toasted baguette slice, place a generous spoonful of the tomato-basil mixture. Tear or cut the burrata cheese into small pieces and place atop the tomato-basil mixture on each bruschetta.
- Final Touches: Drizzle each bruschetta with balsamic glaze for a sweet and tangy finish. Serve immediately while the bread is still crispy.
