Million Dollar Spaghetti Casserole

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb of ground beef
  • 1 jar of spaghetti sauce
  • 8 oz of cream cheese
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ½ lb cottage cheese (equals 1 cup)
  • ½ cup butter (1 stick)
  • 1 pkg spaghetti 16 oz
  • Grated cheddar cheese

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Boil the spaghetti noodles until they reach an al dente (firm) consistency. Drain and set them aside for assembly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and cottage cheese until the mixture is well blended.
  4. Brown the ground beef, then drain it thoroughly. Combine the browned beef with the spaghetti sauce.
  5. Place a few slices of butter into a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  6. Pour half of the cooked spaghetti noodles on top of the butter.
  7. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the noodles.
  8. Add the remaining half of the noodles on top of the cream cheese mixture and place a few more slices of butter on the noodles.
  9. Pour the spaghetti and meat sauce on top of the noodles.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  11. After 30 minutes, sprinkle the desired amount of grated cheese on top.
  12. Return the dish to the oven for an additional 15 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
