Cheesesteak Eggrolls
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (12.5 ounce) package frozen sandwich steak meat
- 1 (14 ounce) package egg roll wrappers
- 4 slices American cheese, halved
- 2 cups oil for frying, or as needed
- 1/4 cup ketchup
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Heat a skillet with 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Break the frozen steak pieces into the skillet. Cook and stir until the steak is no longer pink, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Lay out the egg roll wrappers on a flat surface. Place a half slice of cheese on each wrapper.
- Layer an equal amount of the cooked steak mixture on top of each cheese slice.
- Roll up the egg rolls according to the package directions, sealing the edges with water if necessary.
- Heat about 1 inch of oil in a large skillet or preheat a deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Fry the rolls in the hot oil until they are golden brown on all sides, approximately 5 minutes.
- Remove the rolls and drain them on paper towels.
- Serve the steak and cheese egg rolls warm with ketchup for dipping.
