“Stuffed Italian Bread is a culinary masterpiece that brings the richness of Italian flavors and the comforting warmth of homemade food to your table.”

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Italian loaf, about 12 inches long
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1/8 cup olive oil
  • 3 tsp minced onion
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, grated
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 3 tsp chopped parsley (add more if you wish)
  • 12 oz grated cheese
  • (I used a mix of white cheddar and monterey jack.)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the melted butter, olive oil, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, poppy seeds, and chopped parsley.
  3. Cut the loaf of bread into cubes, making X-shaped slices without cutting all the way through the bottom crust.
  4. Carefully pour the butter-onion-garlic mixture into the X-shaped cracks in the bread using a small spoon. Make sure to drizzle some over the top of the bread.
  5. Fill these cracks with the grated cheese.
  6. Wrap the entire loaf with foil, ensuring that the sides are properly sealed.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Then, remove the bread from the oven and unwrap it.
  8. Bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and gooey.
