PEACH CRISP
Ingredients:
For the Peach Filling:
- 8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup organic sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter
For the Crispy Topping:
- 2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
- 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and brown sugar for the crispy topping. Add 1 cup of butter and mix on low speed until the mixture becomes crumbly.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- Peel and slice the peaches, placing them in a large bowl. Mix in the sugar mixture, stirring until the peaches are evenly coated.
- Pour the fruit mixture into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish or a 3-quart baking dish.
- Place the remaining 1/4 cup of butter, sliced, on top of the fruit mixture randomly.
- Spread the flour mixture evenly over the fruit.
- Bake uncovered at 400°F (200°C) for 45-55 minutes, or until the topping turns golden brown.
- Serve the warm peach crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
