Ingredients
  

  • 3 eggs
  • 380 g 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 medium orange
  • 120 ml ½ cup milk
  • 120 ml ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 180 g 1 cup sugar
  • 16 g 3 ⅓ tbsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 80 g ½ cup chocolate chips

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the unpeeled orange and blend it with eggs, milk, and vegetable oil using an immersion blender until smooth.
  3. Once the mixture is smooth and free of orange chunks, add sugar, salt, flour, and baking powder.
  4. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
  5. Fold the chocolate chips into the batter until evenly distributed.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes.
  9. Then, transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Dust the cooled cake with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Ensure the orange is blended thoroughly to avoid any large chunks in the batter.
