Ingredients
  

For the bread
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
  • 2 large 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup plus 1 to 3 tablespoons milk or almond milk Almond milk can be used for dairy-free option.
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • A pinch A pinch of salt
For the filling
  • 2 2 apples (any kind), peeled and chopped Honeycrisp and Granny Smith are great choices.
  • 2/3 cup 2/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
For the glaze
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup powdered sugar Adjust milk quantity for desired drizzling consistency.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the light brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.
  4. Toss the chopped apples with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and set aside.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and the remaining granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  6. Add the eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  8. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Baking
  1. Spread half of the batter in the prepared loaf pan.
  2. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter, followed by half of the chopped apples.
  3. Repeat this layering with the remaining batter, cinnamon sugar, and apples.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  6. Once cooled, mix the powdered sugar with enough milk to reach a drizzling consistency and drizzle it over the bread before slicing.

Notes
