CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER CRAZY CAKE

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER CRAZY CAKE

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a greased 8-inch square baking pan, mix together the first 5 dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Make three depressions in the dry ingredients: two small ones and one larger one.
  4. Pour the vinegar into one small depression, the vanilla extract into the other small depression, and the vegetable oil into the larger depression.
  5. Pour the water over all the ingredients in the pan.
  6. Mix everything together until smooth and well combined.
  7. Bake the cake on the middle rack of the preheated oven for about 35 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake – it should come out clean when the cake is done.
  8. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely.
  9. Top the cooled cake with the Peanut Butter Frosting (recipe below) or your desired frosting. Enjoy!
