Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 0.5 pound White American Cheese Substitute with cheddar, Monterey Jack, or any melty cheese if not available.
  • 2 tablespoons diced green chiles Chopped super fine; canned chiles are convenient.
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder Optional — adds depth without overpowering.
  • 0.75-1 cup milk Start with 3/4 cup; add more for a thinner dip.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method

Preparation
  1. Chop the green chiles super fine.
  2. Cut the white American cheese into small cubes for even melting.
Cooking
  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, warm 3/4 cup milk until steaming but not simmering.
  2. Add the cubed cheese to the warm milk in small batches, stirring constantly with a spatula until fully melted.
  3. Once melted and glossy, stir in the green chiles and garlic powder. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  4. If the dip is too thick, add extra milk a tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
Serving
  1. Transfer to a warmed serving bowl and enjoy immediately, or keep on low heat to serve warm.
