Ingredients

For the dip
  • 2 cups caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream Substitute half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Use vanilla bean paste for extra flavor.
For serving
  • 3 medium apples, sliced for dipping Choose firm varieties like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Pink Lady.

Method

Preparation
  1. Measure and prep. Slice apples just before serving to prevent browning.
Cooking
  1. Warm the caramel and cream together in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly until the mixture is smooth and heated through. Don’t let it boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Taste and add a pinch of flaky sea salt if you like salted caramel.
  3. Transfer to a shallow serving bowl and serve warm with apple slices.

Notes

For a richer tang, add 2 oz cream cheese dissolved into the warm caramel. You can customize this dip by adding a pinch of salt or a splash of bourbon after removing from heat for an adult version.
