  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg Can be substituted for a vegan option (flaxseed or applesauce).
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Powdered sugar for dusting Dust before serving warm.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until everything is well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Don't overmix!
  5. Gently fold in the diced apples.
  6. Using a spoon, drop tablespoon-sized portions of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the fritters turn golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.
