Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter until everything is well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Don't overmix!
- Gently fold in the diced apples.
- Using a spoon, drop tablespoon-sized portions of batter onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Baking
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the fritters turn golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving warm.
