Ingredients

For the pie
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup light corn syrup Light corn syrup is recommended
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar Brown sugar adds richness
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Can substitute with dark chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves Can be toasted for enhanced flavor

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and pecans evenly over the unbaked pie crust.
  4. Pour the syrup mixture over the chocolate chips and pecans, making sure they are covered.
Baking
  1. Bake the pie for 50 to 60 minutes. If the edges of the crust brown too quickly, you can cover them with foil.
  2. Cool the pie completely before slicing to help the filling set properly.
