  • 1 unbaked 9-inch unbaked 9-inch pie crust Make sure your pie crust is well-chilled for flakiness.
Filling
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips For a deeper chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate chips.
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and pecans evenly in the unbaked pie crust.
  4. Pour the syrup mixture over the chocolate chips and pecans in the crust.
Baking
  1. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes. If the edges of the crust brown too quickly, cover them with foil to prevent burning.
  2. Let the pie cool completely before slicing.
