Preparation
- Prepare a sheet of wax paper and have a tablespoon ready for scooping.
Cooking
- In a large 4-quart saucepan, combine the sugars, milk, vanilla, melted butter, and chopped pecans.
- Heat gently on low, stirring frequently until the butter melts and mixes well with the sugars.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and boil for exactly 3 minutes, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
- Remove from heat and stir vigorously for 2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
- Quickly spoon dollops of the mixture onto the wax paper.
- Let pralines cool and set for 10 to 15 minutes.
Storage
- Store pralines in an airtight container once fully cooled.

Notes
