Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons real butter melted
  • 1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prepare a sheet of wax paper and have a tablespoon ready for scooping.
Cooking
  1. In a large 4-quart saucepan, combine the sugars, milk, vanilla, melted butter, and chopped pecans.
  2. Heat gently on low, stirring frequently until the butter melts and mixes well with the sugars.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and boil for exactly 3 minutes, stirring continuously to prevent burning.
  4. Remove from heat and stir vigorously for 2 minutes until the mixture thickens.
  5. Quickly spoon dollops of the mixture onto the wax paper.
  6. Let pralines cool and set for 10 to 15 minutes.
Storage
  1. Store pralines in an airtight container once fully cooled.

Notes
