  • 2 cups Fresh strawberries, sliced Use the freshest strawberries for best flavor
  • 4 cups Mixed greens (such as spinach, arugula, or lettuce) Any leafy greens can be used
  • 1/4 cup Red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup Feta cheese, crumbled Can substitute with goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup Candied pecans or walnuts Feel free to use other nuts
  • 1/4 cup Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • to taste Cracked black pepper

Crackling Topping

  • 1 cup Crackers, crushed
  • 1/4 cup Melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar For crackling topping

Instructions
 

Prepare the Crackling Topping

  • In a bowl, mix together crushed crackers, melted butter, and a pinch of sugar.
  • Spread the mixture on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crisp.
  • Allow it to cool before breaking it into small pieces.

Assemble the Salad

  • Arrange mixed greens on a serving platter.
  • Layer the sliced strawberries, red onion, crumbled feta cheese, and candied pecans or walnuts on top.
  • Scatter mint leaves for garnish.

Add the Crackling Topping

  • Sprinkle the crispy crackling topping over the salad just before serving.
  • Finish with cracked black pepper for flavor.

Notes

Serve fresh and crisp immediately after adding the crackling topping. Can also offer additional dressing like balsamic vinaigrette. Store ingredients separately to maintain crunchiness.
