Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1.5 lbs Ground Beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 6 oz Stove Top Stuffing (1 package)
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup For meatloaf mixture.
  • 1 tsp Seasoning Salt
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 0.5 tsp Pepper
  • Bell Peppers (optional; diced and pre-baked for 5 minutes) For topping.
  • 0.5 cup Brown Sugar For glaze.
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup (for glaze)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. If adding bell peppers, cut them in half, remove the seeds, and bake them for 5 minutes to soften.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg and water until well combined.
  4. Add the ground beef, Stove Top Stuffing mix, seasoning salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper to the mix. Use your hands to gently combine these ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Press the meat mixture into your prepared loaf pan evenly. If using bell peppers, place them cut-side up on top and gently press them in.
  6. In a separate small bowl, mix together the ketchup and brown sugar to create a glaze. Spread this glaze over the meatloaf.
  7. Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for about 55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Once baked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
