Ingredients
  

Chicken and Glaze
  • 6 large large chicken legs (bone-in, skin on) Feel free to remove the skin if you wish
  • 1/2 cup ginger honey Or substitute with regular honey
  • 1/8 cup molasses
  • 1/8 cup sugar Brown sugar works well too
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option
  • 1 tsp Sriracha Add more for extra heat
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water
  • to taste seasoned salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  • 6 slices bacon (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water. Set this aside for later.
  2. Grab a pot and combine the ginger honey, molasses, sugar, soy sauce, grated ginger, and Sriracha. Bring this mixture to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Once boiling, add the cornstarch and water slurry, stirring until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
  4. To make cleanup easier, line your slow cooker with parchment paper.
  5. Season the chicken legs generously with seasoned salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Cooking
  1. Place the seasoned chicken into the slow cooker, pouring the thickened glaze over the top. Add 1/2 cup of water to the pot.
  2. Cook on high for 3 hours.
  3. While the chicken cooks, fry the chopped bacon in a pan until it turns crisp. Remove it from the pan and let it cool on a paper towel-lined plate. If left whole, crumble it after it cools.

Notes
