Ingredients
  

For the sauce
  • 6 chiles 6 serrano or jalapeño chiles, diced Feel free to use any other chili that suits your taste.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup soy sauce Can substitute for tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1/2 white onion 1/2 white onion, diced Adds sweetness when caramelized.
  • 2 limes Juice of 2 limes Fresh lime juice is preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon vegetable oil For sautéing the chiles and onions.
  • 1 splash A splash of orange juice Optional for added sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the diced chiles and sauté until they become golden brown.
  3. Toss in the diced onion and allow them to caramelize slightly.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the soy sauce and lime juice (and orange juice if using).
  5. Stir the charred chiles and onions into the soy sauce mixture and let it marinate for a few minutes.

Notes
