Ingredients
  

For the Casserole
  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4–5 medium sweet potatoes)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Topping
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and salt. Mix until the batter is smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the sweet potato mixture into your greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  4. In another bowl, mix the packed brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and chopped pecans until you achieve a crumbly texture for the topping.
  5. Sprinkle this topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
Baking
  1. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is heated through.
