Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 apples, peeled and sliced Feel free to use a mix of tart and sweet varieties.
  • 1/4 cup butter Can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Can substitute with white sugar or coconut sugar.
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • a pinch salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by melting the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Allow it to foam slightly but don’t let it brown.
  2. Add the sliced apples to the skillet. Cook them, stirring occasionally until they soften and begin to release their juices—about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Continue to simmer, stirring gently, until the sauce thickens and coats the apples nicely.
  4. Once they’re done, serve them warm straight from the skillet.
