Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Use high-quality cocoa for better flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup milk Can substitute with almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Margarine can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Topping
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to use different chocolate brands.
  • 1 cup boiling water Do not stir into the batter.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the batter.
  6. Carefully pour boiling water over the top without stirring.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are bubbly and the center is set.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
