  • 1 cup root beer A&W works wonderfully
  • 1 medium onion Minced dried or chopped for added flavor

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts in your slow cooker. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Pour the barbecue sauce over the chicken, ensuring it covers every piece.
  3. Next, pour in the root beer, spreading it around the chicken to mix the flavors.
  4. If you like, sprinkle minced dried onion or chopped onion on top.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and set it to the High heat setting, cooking for 2 to 3 hours or until the chicken is tender.
  6. Once cooked, shred the chicken using two forks and serve as desired.
