Main Ingredients
  • 3-4 pounds beef chuck roast You can substitute with brisket.
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • soft burger buns for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Season your roast generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add a touch of oil and sear the beef on all sides until it’s nicely browned.
Cooking
  1. Layer the sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Place the seared beef on top and pour the BBQ sauce evenly over the meat.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the beef is tender and easy to shred.
  4. Remove the beef from the cooker, shred it with two forks, and mix it back into the sauce.
Serving
  1. Pile the shredded beef on soft buns and enjoy!
