- In a slow cooker, mix together the water, ketchup, tomato paste, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard, and salt. Stir well to dissolve the brown sugar and salt completely.
- Place the beef back ribs into the sauce and stir so they are well coated.
- Set the slow cooker to Low, cover it, and cook for 8 hours.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the ribs in the sauce for a few hours or overnight before cooking. If you like spicy food, add some hot sauce or cayenne pepper to the sauce mixture. Finishing the ribs under the broiler for a few minutes after cooking adds a crispy texture. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
