Method
Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, cream cheese, and finely chopped green onion. Mix until well combined.
- Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Spoon about a teaspoon of the shrimp mixture into the center of the wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold it over to form a triangle and press the edges together to seal tightly.
- Repeat the process until you’ve used up all the shrimp mixture.
Cooking
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the wontons and fry until they are golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Drain the fried wontons on paper towels and serve hot with sweet chili sauce.

Notes
For a lighter option, consider using low-fat cream cheese. These wontons can be frozen before frying – lay them flat on a baking sheet until frozen solid, then transfer to a freezer bag for up to 2 months.
