Ingredients
  

Pasta and Base Ingredients
  • 8 ounces dry pasta any shape you prefer
  • 13 ounces hot Italian sausage feel free to use mild for less heat
  • 1 sweet pepper, diced use red or yellow for sweetness
  • 1/2 onion, diced yellow or white works well
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, diced optional for added texture
  • 5 ounces Garlic and Herb Boursin cheese
  • 1 cup milk or cream adjust according to desired creaminess
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • Oil for frying olive or vegetable oil

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add your pasta. Cook according to package instructions. Once al dente, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions and peppers. Sauté until tender and translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add the hot Italian sausage to the skillet. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. If using, add the diced mushrooms to the pan and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Sauté until soft and wilted, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and add the Boursin cheese in chunks. As it melts, gradually mix in the milk or cream until achieving desired sauce consistency.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until well-coated in the creamy sauce. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Plate and enjoy this hearty dish!
