  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs Place at room temperature.
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For rolling the cookies.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the red food coloring, a splash of vanilla extract, and vinegar until blended.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and coat in powdered sugar.
  8. Place the dough balls on prepared baking sheets, spaced at least 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
  2. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
