Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 10.5 oz cream of chicken soup Can substitute with cream of mushroom soup
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 0.5 cup sour cream Provides extra creaminess
Seasoning Ingredients
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp olive oil Optional for searing chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Optional for garnish
  • Fresh parsley Optional for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. (Optional) In a pan over medium heat, heat olive oil. Sear the chicken breasts until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  2. In your crock pot, combine the cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir it well to blend all those flavors.
  3. Add the seared (or unseared) chicken breasts into the crock pot, coating them in the creamy sauce.
Cooking
  1. Cover and set your crock pot to low for 6-7 hours, or to high for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  2. After cooking, use two forks to shred the chicken right in the sauce.
  3. Stir in the sour cream for that extra creamy goodness.
  4. If desired, garnish with shredded cheese and fresh parsley.
