Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the peeled, sliced apples until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it level with a spatula.
- Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the top.
Baking
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
