Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 medium head medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 12 oz egg noodles Cook according to package instructions
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped Can adjust the amount to preference or replace with mushrooms for a vegetarian option
  • 3 tablespoons butter For coating the dish
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped Sauté until translucent
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Optional garnish

Method
 

Cooking the Noodles
  1. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Bacon and Vegetables
  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon drippings in the skillet.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until translucent and fragrant.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Cook until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized, stirring occasionally. This will take about 15 minutes.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Add the cooked egg noodles and bacon to the skillet with the cabbage. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the butter and let it melt, coating everything evenly.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
  4. Serve hot.

Notes
