Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce, sliced mushrooms, and pepperoni. Let this simmer for about 5-7 minutes until heated through.
Assembly
  1. Spoon the beef mixture generously over the toasted English muffins.
  2. Top each with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  3. Place the assembled burgers in the oven for about 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  4. Remove, let cool slightly, and add any optional toppings before serving.
