Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the butter for about 15 seconds until it’s half melted and half soft.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and brown sugar with the softened butter. Mix until creamy.
- Lightly beat the egg and vanilla extract, then incorporate them into your sugar-butter mixture.
- Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour and baking soda until just combined.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and walnuts gently to keep the chunks intact.
- Roll the dough into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, making sure you don’t overcook them—10 minutes often gives a perfect soft texture.
