Ingredients

Burger Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend) For juiciness
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
Toppings
  • 4 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce (plus extra for serving)
  • 12–16 slices pepperoni
  • 4 pieces hamburger buns toasted
  • Optional toppings: fresh basil, red pepper flakes, or grated Parmesan

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by preheating your grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, along with salt and pepper. Mix until just combined, then form into four equal patties.
Cooking
  1. Cook each patty for about 3–4 minutes per side, making sure to achieve your desired doneness.
  2. During the last minute of cooking, spoon marinara over each patty and place cheese on top. Cover to allow it to melt beautifully.
  3. Meanwhile, take a small skillet or use the oven to lightly crisp the pepperoni slices, enhancing their flavor.
Assembly
  1. Once cooked, place each patty on a toasted bun, layer with crispy pepperoni, and feel free to add any optional toppings.
  2. Serve warm, alongside extra marinara for dipping.
