  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar Adjust sweetness as desired.
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups whole milk Can substitute with almond or oat milk for dairy-free.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Extra pecan halves for topping (optional) Use for garnish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, stir together oats, chopped pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and spread it out evenly.
  • Top with a few extra pecan halves if desired.

Cooking

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden.
  • Let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm, plain or with a splash of milk or dollop of whipped cream.

Notes

For a nut-free version, substitute pecans with seeds like pumpkin or sunflower seeds. Adjust sweetness to taste and add more milk for a creamier texture. Can add chocolate chips or dried fruits for variations.
