  • 1 cup sweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line a 9x9 inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, then spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla extract, sifted flour, cocoa powder, and chopped pecans. Stir until well blended.
  • Press the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan as evenly as possible.

Baking

  • Bake the crust for about 20 minutes or until the edges are lightly brown.
  • Layer the Kraft Caramel Bits, coconut flakes, and whole or chopped pecans over the baked crust.
  • Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the top.
  • Bake again for 27 to 30 minutes or until the center is set.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting them into squares.
  • Serve at room temperature, optionally with extra chocolate chips or nuts, and pair with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

To keep the bars fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Refrigerate for longer freshness, but allow them to come to room temperature before serving. For added richness, drizzle melted chocolate over the finished bars.
