  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation
  1. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and butter over medium heat. Stir until the mixture comes to a rolling boil.
  2. Once boiling, add the salt and continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the peanuts, baking soda, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the mixture onto a greased baking sheet and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
  5. Allow it to cool completely before breaking it into pieces. Enjoy!
