Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can sliced peaches (15–20 oz) Use in syrup for extra sweetness or in juice for less sugar.
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (about 15.25 oz)
  • 1 cup butter (melted) About 2 sticks. Substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free version.
Optional Enhancements
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Adds warmth; optional.
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar Optional for deeper caramel flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish lightly with butter or nonstick spray.
  2. Open the can of peaches and pour them into the dish, spreading them into an even layer.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the peaches.
  4. If using brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle them over the cake mix now.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter slowly and evenly across the entire surface.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 40–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  2. If the top browns too quickly, tent loosely with foil for the final 10–15 minutes.
  3. Let the dump cake rest for 10–15 minutes before scooping.

Notes

Using syrup from canned peaches makes the interior sauce luscious. For a gluten-free version, use a certified gluten-free yellow cake mix.
