For the Peach Mixture
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced Use ripe but firm peaches for best results.
  • 1/2 cup sugar For mixing with peaches.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted Ensure it's melted for a smooth batter.
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Can substitute with baking soda and cream of tartar.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar For the batter mix.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice before spreading them evenly in a greased baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine the remaining sugar, flour, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter over the peach mixture.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown and bubbly.
