Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
- Carefully pour the batter over the peach mixture in the baking dish without stirring.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is nicely golden brown.
Serving
- Serve warm, and top with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or toasted almonds, if desired.

Notes
