Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup of sugar and the lemon juice. Set it aside to marinate for a bit.
  3. In another bowl, combine the flour, the rest of the sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla until everything is well blended.
  4. Pour this batter into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Carefully spoon the peach mixture over the top of the batter—avoid stirring it in for that perfect layered effect.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbling joyfully.
