Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter Use creamy or chunky based on preference.
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened Make sure butter is softened for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Adjust if using natural peanut butter.
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Can replace some with butterscotch chips for a twist.
  • 1 cup caramel bits Can substitute with caramel sauce and reduce sugar.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter and butter until smooth.
  • Add brown sugar and granulated sugar; mix until well combined.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder; gradually add to the peanut butter mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits.
  • Spread the dough evenly in the prepared pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. For extra indulgence, drizzle melted chocolate or caramel on top. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.
