  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil For cooking
  • 12 ounces Smoked sausage Sliced
  • 1 medium Onion Chopped
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic For flavor
  • 1 cup Chicken broth For sauce
  • 1 can Canned diced tomatoes Drain if necessary
  • 1 cup Heavy cream For creaminess
  • to taste Pepper For seasoning
  • 8 ounces Dry whole wheat bow tie pasta Or any pasta of choice
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese For serving

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add chicken broth and canned diced tomatoes to the skillet, bringing to a simmer.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and season with pepper.
Pasta Preparation
  1. In a separate pot, cook the bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the sauce, mixing well.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheddar cheese.

Notes
