  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed Choose fresh asparagus that is bright green and firm.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For cooking.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Add during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season according to preference.
  • Lemon wedges for serving Optional, for extra flavor.

Method
 

Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the trimmed asparagus to the skillet and sauté for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until the asparagus is tender but still crisp.
  3. Add the minced garlic during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking to prevent it from burning.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Remove from heat and serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side if desired.

Notes
