For the apples
  • 4 pieces 4 apples Choose a variety like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp that retains shape.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup brown sugar Can substitute with coconut sugar or white granulated sugar.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon cinnamon Feel free to experiment with other spices.
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup butter Can substitute with coconut oil for vegan.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup caramel sauce A dairy-free version can be used for vegan.
  • 1 scoop Vanilla ice cream For serving, optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Core the apples and make cuts in a blooming pattern, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  3. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon, then stuff this mixture into the cuts of the apples.
Baking
  1. Place the apples in a baking dish and dot them with butter.
  2. Pour caramel sauce generously over the apples.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the apples are tender and the caramel is bubbling.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top for that perfect finishing touch.
