Ingredients
  

Frosting Base
  • 1/2 cup unsalted sweet cream butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 teaspoons flattened orange soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1-3 drops orange food coloring Optional for color.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a standing mixer, combine the softened butter and powdered sugar. Beat until the mixture is creamy.
  2. Add in orange zest, orange soda, vanilla extract, orange juice, and heavy cream. Mix until smooth.
  3. If you want a vibrant color, add a few drops of orange food coloring and mix again.
  4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix again until well combined and fluffy.
  5. Scoop your frosting into an airtight container for storage or use it right away.
  6. To store, keep in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for about three months.
  7. When ready to use, allow it to come to room temperature and beat again before frosting.

Notes
