For the Topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and the orange zest.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together and is soft.
  5. On a floured surface, roll out the dough until it's about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut out the cookies and arrange them on a baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Once cooled, melt the white chocolate and drizzle it over the cookies.
  3. Sprinkle the toasted almond slivers on top before the chocolate sets.
