- Add the lean ground beef and diced sweet onion to a large Dutch oven over medium heat and cook until the beef is browned. Drain the grease.
- Add the minced garlic to the pot and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
- Stir in the canned tomato sauce, undrained canned diced tomatoes, and water. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, break the dried spaghetti noodles in half and add them to the pot. Stir to submerge the noodles in the liquid.
- Return to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10-12 minutes or until the noodles are cooked through.
- Sprinkle the shredded Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley over the top, then stir to combine.
- Serve the One Pot Spaghetti immediately.
