Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or butter Use for sautéing garlic
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Use more for a stronger flavor
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth Choose based on dietary preferences
  • 12 oz spaghetti or fettuccine Fettuccine is a great option for kids
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with half-and-half or a non-dairy alternative
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese Fresh cheese melts better than pre-grated
  • 1/2 tsp salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley Optional for garnish

Method

Cooking Process
  1. In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  2. Once hot, add the minced garlic, sautéing it for 1–2 minutes until fragrant and golden.
  3. Pour in the broth, bringing it to a boil.
  4. Add your choice of pasta, stirring occasionally and cooking uncovered until most of the liquid is absorbed and the pasta is al dente (about 10–12 minutes).
  5. Reduce the heat to low, and then slowly stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan, salt, and black pepper until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and extra cheese before serving.

Notes

For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for better flavor. Don't skimp on the garlic. For added depth, try red pepper flakes.
