Ingredients
  

For the Pie
  • 1 piece pie crust at room temperature
  • 4 Tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar can substitute with brown sugar
  • 4 Tablespoons salted butter melted
  • 2 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream can substitute with half-and-half
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F and place the pie crust onto a baking sheet.
  2. Bake the pie crust for 10-12 minutes until it’s lightly golden. Set aside to cool.
Filling
  1. In a small bowl, combine the cornstarch and sugar.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the cornstarch mixture, melted butter, and heavy cream. Stir continuously until it reaches a boil and thickens.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Carefully pour the hot cream mixture into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  5. Drizzle melted butter over the filling and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 25 minutes or until set. Broil for approximately 1 minute for a beautiful top.
  2. Allow the pie to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to set completely.
  3. Serve cold or store covered in the refrigerator.
